Previous Projects
Projects undertaken by Damor Engineering Ltd include the following :
-
design and analysis of two sizes of articulated pipeline pulling
heads, for use during abandonment and recovery of subsea flexible
risers, and manufactured as interlocking segments from hard
polyurethane cast around perforated steel reinforcing cores.
- FEA
of turret and buoyant hull structures for another offshore
loading buoy, assessed under simultaneously-applied tanker
mooring loads, anchor chain reactions and seawater hydrostatic
pressure
-
analysis by non-linear FEA methods, of the mooring chain link
surface contact with its restraining anchor pawls, on an offshore
loading buoy
-
design and analysis of a repair clamp device to isolate a leaking
4" nozzle connection on a high-pressure 24" pipeline
-
analysis of the existing arrangement and proposed design
modifications for the conical end of a process plant superheater
vessel
-
design and analysis of hydraulically-actuated dewatering tools
for 36" and 20" subsea pipelines
-
modelling and analysis of a scissor-type clamp for gripping &
recovery of subsea flexible flowlines
-
design and analysis of a tool to install a blind flange onto a
subsea wellhead nozzle, with the flange and device to be fitted
and clamped remotely in very deep water using a ROV only, with no
manual intervention possible
- structural and thermal FEA of a replacement shell-tube waste heat boiler for a polymer production facility in the UK.
-
design of a clutch assembly to be retrofitted to a mooring buoy hull
rotation system
- FEA of
re-designed engine adaptor brackets for robotic manipulation on the
assembly line of a car manufacturing plant
- FEA of
hull, turret and turntable structures for three newbuild CALM buoy
projects, analysed under simultaneous hydrostatic, anchoring and
mooring loads
- further
design and analysis of seals, bend restrictors, high & low pressure
plugs and clamps on behalf of an OEM, for use in subsea pipeline,
riser and umbilical handling & protection
- design
and analysis of a high pressure 36" pipeline isolation plug
- design
and analysis of a hydraulically-driven orientation system for an
turret-type offshore loading buoy, to rotate the hull relative to the
anchored turret.
-
technical audit and due-diligence on an existing aluminium smelter in
Northern Europe, on behalf of a major international operator
considering an investment in the assets
-
structural and thermal FEAs of proposed modifications to a large
reactor vessel and attached pipework, including expansion bellows,
for a polymer production facility in the USA.
- analysis of a polymeric subsea cable protection system module
- further design and analysis of seals, bend restrictors, high & low pressure plugs and clamps on behalf of an OEM, for use in subsea pipeline, riser and umbilical handling & protection
- design, analysis and project management of an on-site machining system for use during a buoy refurbishment project
